A destination for the whole family
Learn exciting information and mysterious stories about the Black Forest and its inhabitants on this 3.2 km long, barrier-free loop trail. At the tower of the Black Forest tree top walk on the Sommerberg, the Fairy-tale Path begins.
The radio play Heart of Stone ("Das Kalte Herz") by Wilhelm Hauff is played at various stations. It tells the story of the boy Peter Munk and his struggle for happiness. He is accompanied by the little glassman, the good forest ghost who grants him three wishes, and the Dutchman Michel, a giant with broad shoulders who wants to take Peter's heart.

The tour starts and ends at the tower of the Black Forest Treetop Walk. The 3.2 km path takes approximately 1 hour to complete. Find out how to get there and where to park here.
What you will experience
Along the way there are 10 stations with audio plays and information boards on topics such as rafting, trees and geology, giants, mermaids and knights, Black Forest glassmaking, Black Forest specialties, nature park treasures and excursion destinations.
Multilingual Web App
The app is available at the entrance. An internet connection is only required for the first download, the information is stored in English and French and can be accessed on the go without an internet connection.
Accessibility
The main path is gravel and can be accessed with a suitable pushchair or wheelchair.
The 3 branches of the Glasmännlein Trail that are clearly visible are not accessible.

Fascinated by a magical world, you leave the Fairy-tale Path. But home already? Not at all.
